ADVOCACY & CAMPAIGN FOR RENEWABLES ENERGY
During 2023-24, MATI played a key role as a partner in the project entitled “Enhancing Resilience in Chicken Value Chain in Bangladesh: Reducing Moral Hazard and Improving Food Safety Strategies,” was funded by USAID in collaboration of Texas State University, USA and Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh.
As advocacy activity of the project, a roundtable discussion meeting was held on 14th of February 2024 at the Conference Hall of the daily “Samakal” a leading newspaper of Bangladesh on the issue of “Improving Food Safety Strategies in Chicken Value Chain of Bangladesh” which was jointly organized by the Samakal and MATI Bangladesh under the project entitled Enhancing Resilience in Chicken Value Chain in Bangladesh: Reducing Moral Hazard and Improving Food Safety Strategies. The research was conducted in collaboration with Texas State University, USA and Bangladesh Agricultural University with Financial support from USAID through Purdue University, USA and LASER PULSE.
Safe poultry producer Agriculturist Zikrul Hakim, Managing Director of APYZ Safe Food Agro Limited; SM Nazer Hossain, Vice Chairperson of Consumer Association of Bangladesh; Dr Biplab Kumar Pramanik, General Secretary of the World Poultry Science Association; Poultry Scientist Mr. Anjan Majumdar, Coordinator, Poultry Professionals Bangladesh; Dr. Shahidur Rahman, a Professor of Poultry Science Department from Bangladesh Agricultural University; Professor Rezaul Karim Siddiqui, General Secretary and Executive Director of BSAFE Foundation; Dr. Shakila Farooq, Chief Scientist of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute, Dr. Laila Akhtar, Director, Bangladesh Food Safety Authority and Agriculturist Shahidul Islam, Development Director of Mati Bangladesh attended as distinguished guest speakers in the roundtable discussion. Dr. Madan Mohan Dey, Professor of Agricultural Science Department, Texas State University, Dr. Aktaruzzaman Khan, Fulbright Scholar, Texas State University, and Rakhi Chakraborty, Associate professor, Bangladesh Agricultural University, joined the meeting virtually. Sheikh Rokan, associate editor of The Daily Samakal, moderated the meeting with Abu Sayeed Khan, advisory editor of The Daily Samakal in the chair.
